BROKERS NOTES ON PORTOFINO

Portofino was one of the first luxury condos in South of Fifth (built in 1997). The building offers spacious floorplans, and amazing views from many of the units. The "01" line is the most desirable 3BR line, followed by the "05". Many residents of Portofino Towers have been owning in the building for a long time - condos at Portofino do not change hands as often as those in some other luxury buildings.

Portofino Towers is slightly smaller (206 units - comparable to Murano at Portofino), divided into 3 separate towers, each with its own elevator bank. Most units have semi-private elevator foyers. Note that floors 5 to 10 do not have floor-to-ceiling windows, nor glass balconies (take a look at the exterior shots of Portofino, you'll notice), so they commend a lower price than the rest of the building. ABOUT PORTOFINO TOWERS

About Portofino

Built in 1997, Portofino Tower, with its classical architecture, orange-pink walls and blue windows is probably still the most recognizable South Beach luxury condo, if not the most recognizable building in Miami Beach. The imposing 44-story condo building paved the way for the development of what has become the most exclusive area of South Beach - South of Fifth (or SoFi). Located at the very entrance to the Port of Miami, right in front of “cruise ship alley” and Governor's cut, Portofino Tower will forever offer the most amazing, unobstructed views of the world's largest cruise ships sailing by. Some of the condo owners get to enjoy these views from their oversized master bathroom Jacuzzi tubs.

The Portofino condo units are substantial, with high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that allow you to fully enjoy the dazzling views of South Beach and Downtown Miami. The kitchens and bathrooms are simply superb as well. On the 29th floor, the spa-in-the-sky Club Portofino, a destination reserved only for the owners of these magnificent residences, offers a fitness center, sauna and steam rooms, massage services, a terrace with bar, game rooms and theaters. In June 2009, a new amenity was for the benefit of the Portofino Tower residents - the Portofino Poolside Café opened its doors (so to speak) and serves lunch every day except Monday.

Although built a few years before most of its neighbors in the South Beach luxury real estate market (Murano at Portofino, the Continuum South Beach and Continuum North Tower etc were not even in project phase in 1997) the Portofino Tower offers the quality and excellence of a true ultra-luxury building with the modern comforts you have come to expect in a Miami Beach luxury condo. From the moment you step through the sliding doors into the stunning four-level fountain-and-palm-tree lobby, in the middle of which rests a fish pond with colorful fishes peacefully swimming around, you'll notice.
